Comparison
Testimonial software, compared honestly
Four categories of tool, what each is genuinely good at, and where each one stops. Pricing and features change often, check each vendor's site before you decide.
The four categories
Collection and wall widgets
Senja, Testimonial.to
Best at: Collecting text and video testimonials at volume and embedding a wall of love on your site.
Where it stops: The output stays a quote. Turning it into a written case study is still your job.
Video-first tools
VideoAsk, Vocal Video
Best at: Async video interviews, guided recording, and editing clips for social.
Where it stops: Great footage, but the written narrative a prospect reads before a call is not produced for you.
Review platforms
Trustpilot, G2, Google Business Profile
Best at: Public, third-party credibility and search visibility for a company.
Where it stops: You do not control the format, and reviews rarely contain the before-and-after detail a case study needs.
Proof-to-case-study
CasePruve
Best at: Collecting structured answers, then producing the case study, the X post and the thread from those answers.
Where it stops: It is not a review platform, it does not distribute you on a third-party marketplace.
Six things worth checking before you pay
What comes out the other end
A quote, a video clip, or a finished page? Most tools stop at collection. Decide what you actually need to publish, then pick the category that produces it.
How structured the input is
"Leave us a review" produces one vague line. Question-by-question collection produces a before state, a result and a number, the raw material a case study needs.
Whether claims stay traceable
If a tool writes marketing copy for you, check that every sentence maps back to something the client said. A prospect can question an invented figure on a call.
Consent and approval
You need an explicit, recorded yes before publishing a client's name, company or numbers. Check that the tool records it rather than assuming it.
Where the proof ends up
Website embed, public proof page, social posts. Proof that lives only in a dashboard does not win work.
Cost at your size
Most tools price on testimonial volume. A freelancer with ten great clients needs depth per client, not thousands of collected quotes.
Where CasePruve fits
CasePruve is for people who sell services and need written proof, not only a wall of quotes. If all you want is a testimonial widget, a collection tool is the cheaper answer, and we would rather you knew that now.
Clients answer five structured questions, so you never get a one-line "they were great".
The case study is built only from those answers, and you can open the original testimonial next to it.
Every approved case study also produces an X post and a thread, ready to publish.
Explicit publishing consent is recorded with the testimonial, with the exact wording your client agreed to.
Public proof pages and website embeds are included, not a separate plan.
