Customer success story template

Three formats you can copy right now: the full write-up, a one-page summary for outreach, and the interview questions that fill them both in. No sign-up.

1. Full customer success story

For your website, proposals and sales follow-ups.

[Outcome] for [Client type]

The situation
[Client name], [role] at [company], was [what was happening before].
It was costing them [time, money, or missed opportunity].

What we did
1. [First step]
2. [Second step]
3. [Third step]

What changed
- [Primary result, with a figure the client confirmed]
- [Second result]
- [Timeframe the change happened over]

Why it matters
[Two sentences on why this result is not trivial in their market.]

In their words
"[Verbatim quote from the client.]"
— [Name], [Role], [Company]

2. One-page summary

For cold outreach and pitch decks, same facts, fifteen seconds.

Before: [One sentence.]
After: [One sentence, with the number.]
Time to result: [Weeks / months]

Top three outcomes
1. [Result + figure]
2. [Result + figure]
3. [Result + figure]

Quote: "[One line, verbatim.]", [Name, Role]

Next step: [What a reader should do, book a call, see the service page.]

3. Interview questions

Send these first. The templates only arrange what the answers give you.

1. What was going on before we started? What had you already tried?
2. What made you decide to do something about it then?
3. What did we actually do together, in your words?
4. What changed? Is there one number you can share, even roughly?
5. What would you tell someone weighing up the same decision?
6. Are you happy for us to publish this with your name and company?

Which one to use

Use the full write-up

For your website, a proposal appendix, or a sales follow-up where the reader is already considering you and wants detail.

Use the one-pager

For cold outreach, pitch decks, and anywhere the reader gives you fifteen seconds. Same facts, no narrative.

Use the interview questions

Before either. They are the only part that produces new information, the templates just arrange it.

Five rules that keep it credible

Only publish figures the client confirmed, and say what was measured.

Keep the quote verbatim; fix grammar only with permission.

Name the timeframe, a result with no period is not a result.

Get written approval of the final text before it goes live.

One story per client type, so a prospect recognises themselves.

Let your customer fill the template in

Send one link with the six questions. CasePruve turns the answers into the finished story, a post and a thread, built only from what they said.
